Ngima Gelu Sherpa (b. 1993, Solu Khumbu) is a cinematographer turned writer, director and producer.
His debut short film फूलसिरी Phulsiri (2016, Nepal) won Best Children film award in Nepal and was screened in dozens of film festivals across the world. After the short, he received a full Erasmus plus scholarship to pursue MA in Film Directing and Production at Kino Eyes: The European Movie Masters program (2018-2020) in Lisbon, Edinburgh and Tallinn. Adaptação (2020, Portugal/ UK/ Estonia), his graduation short film, is currently traveling festival circuit.
His debut documentary short film ངའི ནང Home (2020, Nepal) chronicles his relationship to home and his parents living in the Everest region. His next film, Kathmandu Monsoon (post-production, 2021, Nepal) portrays the everyday life in his hometown Kathmandu. He is currently developing Stray Cat, a short fiction; and A for amigo, a documentary feature.
