Solukhumbu: The road track connecting Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Gaonpalika 1 Kande Tham Danda of Solukhumbu to the village center Nachipang has started from Monday. Chairman of the Construction Consumer Committee, Lhakpa Dorji Sherpa, informed that the work of opening the track has started with the amount of Rs 4.5 million allocated from the Federal Parliament Fund.
The road named Ngimdorji Sherpa Road is only about 20 km away from the center. Lhakpa Chhiri Sherpa, spokesperson of the village municipality, said that it was very expensive to open the track in the area which has more than 90 percent rock. Although a consumer committee has been formed with an agreement worth Rs 9 million for the track to open, the village municipality has to manage the remaining amount, said spokesperson Sherpa. It is said that the committee will open the track up to Paiya Chheubas.
Request to exercise caution in traffic
As the road track is being opened, the public has been requested to take special precautions while moving around. Local Furinji Sherpa informed that the time has been fixed for walking from Kandetham Danda to Paiya as the work of track open has started from today.
According to him, the time has been fixed for the movement of passengers and livestock in the area from 11 am to 12 noon, from 3 pm to 4 pm and from 6 pm to 7 am.
