About Nima Nurbu Sherpa
Nima Nuru Sherpa, who recently turned 57, is a well-known name in Sherpa adventure tourism. Sherpa, who was born on January 6, 1966, in Namche, Solukhumbu, spent his childhood in Kathmandu and the surrounding villages.Sherpa attended Siddharth Vanasthali in Kathmandu for primary school and Salleri for secondary school. After SLC, he moved to Kathmandu and began a trekking business while continuing his education.
While there were numerous foreign companies, the number of Nepali trekking companies was small. Sherpa did not look back after making a commercial trip through Choyou Trekking Company in 1988.There were less than 200 trekking companies when he registered the company. He claims that adventure tourism is the most innovative industry business in Nepal, and that it is growing.Sherpa, who started the company with a 3 lakh authorized capital, now runs Altitude Air, Choyou Trekking Company, and two hotels in Solukhumbu. He not only ran the business, but he also brought in new ideas in tourism sector.
In 1992, Hotel 8 Thousand INN opened in Lubuche for the first time, catering to tourists who were frustrated by the lack of comfortable hotels and lodges on their way to Mount Everest. Lubuche, located at an elevation of 5,000 meters, was the most comfortable of the lodges in operation at the time.During that time, many tourists from Europe, America, and Japan visited Nepal. His hotel has made a significant contribution to the influx of high-end tourists to the Base Camp area. In addition, in 2007, he opened the first hotel with facilities in Namche Bazaar, the gateway to Mount Everest.
Following the opening of the 30-bed Sherpa Land Hotel, there has been an increase in the number of hotels with facilities. There are now luxurious hotels and resorts there.
He also noticed a lack of helicopters to rescue tourists while running a trekking company and hotel. Altitude Helicopter has been in operation since 2016. There had previously been very few private sector helicopters. The tourists were not rescued on time because they were reliant on a Nepalese army helicopter. It caused a slew of issues. He claims that a helicopter company has also been established for the same purpose.
