"Doctors' treatment, everyone's love and prayers have given me the confidence to fight cancer quickly," she said.
Sharon, the eldest daughter of Dorjee Tsering Sherpa and Anju Gurung, was born in Kathmandu. Her younger sister, Sarah, died in a 2010 plane crash. Sarah had been working as a flight attendant on the plane. Sharon's mother also died in 2014. Sharon said that she has gone through such painful moments in her life and she has the courage to face the current pain.
As a child, Sharon studied at Sunshine School in Darjeeling and passed SLC from Kantipur English High School in Kathmandu. She completed class 12 from the Modern Indian School in Chobhar and won the title of Miss Beautiful in 1996 while participating in the college. She also won the title of Miss Catwalk at that time.
Then she got offers for many movies, commercials and modeling. She even became a popular radio presenter on Kantipur FM. She started the program when Kingfisher Wear started in Nepal and also conducted the Mahashivaratri Music Festival in 1998. She even did ramp modeling in Visit Nepal 1998. She has also modeled in Real Gold Wear of Web Magazine, Coca-Cola and Chaudhary Group. She has also acted in movies.
She then moved to Japan, where she worked at the Radisson Hotel. In Japan, she also performed Nepali dance in many programs. Sharon, who came to the United States from Japan, was the participating coordinator and choreographer in Miss Nepal America 2011. She also hosted a program on White Mountain Television in New York in 2012. While living in California, USA, she worked at the front desk of the Pacific Plaza Hotel and also worked in a Nepali restaurant. She moved to Portland in 2017 to work in a security position, and just before the start of the 2020 Corona epidemic, her social security card, bank card, passport and other documents were stolen.
Then came some very difficult moments in Sharon's life. Sharon has the experience of not being able to find work after losing her documents and living on the streets of Portland. She then moved to Seattle. There she began working as a magazine vendor. She said that while doing this, she was her own boss and did not have to work on anyone's schedule.
In Seattle, she was greatly influenced by spending time in shelters, including Wheel, the Salvation Army, and St. James's Cathedral. She said that she used to cook for the people on the streets and see goodness in them. Lately, her life was improving. She started living in a small house in South Seattle. But at the same time, Sharon has been diagnosed with bowel cancer.
She said that although she was diagnosed with cancer, she was not panicking and was undergoing treatment with patience. But the smile on her face has not disappeared. "I will recover soon," she said with a laugh. And I will come to New York again to eat dal rice. '
