In a Sunday morning incident at around 10 AM, a devastating fire engulfed a resort situated in Lukla, located within the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality-2 of Solukhumbu district. Preliminary estimates suggest the blaze caused approximately 7.5 million Nepali Rupees in damages, as confirmed by Anil Mishra, an information officer at the Solukhumbu District Police Office.
Operated by Tunga Sherpa, the Khumbu Resort suffered severe losses in terms of physical assets, with significant damage reported on the third and fourth floors. The fire's origin has been attributed to an electrical malfunction.
